I am writing the broken down steps
to my larger goals spread out over time on daily overview sheet. The best daily sheet I found was from
The Household Planner. It has
spaces for dinner, financial tasks, household tasks, emails, phone calls,
priorities, etc. (I keep a master form folder in the front of the crate by my
desk in case I can’t print my electronic versions.) I keep 7 of these forms in
weekly files premade for the whole year. These weekly folders are divided into
6 hanging files kept in this crate. In each of the weekly folders, I also put
any invitations, reminders, estimates, etc. needed for upcoming events. I am
also placing my bills that are due in the corresponding folders as well. The
daily overviews are updated nightly as well as when needed. Each day I just
grab from the weekly folder that day’s overview and place it in my household
binder. Now I am off and running!
I know
this seems like a complicated system already, but I need physical reminders. Without
them, I fall back into my old habits of procrastination. I like having
checklists to physically mark off.
